Ok… I definitely need to preface this post by saying that it was about a real feel of 101 degrees, and these two never complained once! We may have had insane humidity and tons of mosquitos swarming around our legs, but we also had some gorgeous light and nearly empty city parks (a rarity in DC!!). I am SO thankful for clients that trust their photographer, even when the situation being thrown at them is a little bit crazy! We got through the evening with cold water close on hand and a few breaks to cool down.
I met Shanna through a mutual connection at my old job. (Hi Maura!!) Shanna works for the USO and does amazing work for all of their programs that serve active duty military and their families. Goodness, I am so thankful that this kind and caring soul has been brought into my life (and am even more honored that I get to shoot her WEDDING next year!!)
Shanna and Connor met during their sophomore year at George Washington University. One day, they sat next to one another on a bench on campus. After they started talking, things just took off from there! Now, they’re getting MARRIED next year! He loves her smile, and she loves his loyalty. They are planning a classic DC wedding set for fall of 2019! It is going to be such a gorgeous day, celebrating with their closest family and friends!
Shanna and Connor opted for locations that meant a lot to them. During their session, we toured their old neighborhood near Judiciary Square with their sweet pup Hoover!! He is a literal floof and was SUCH a good boy throughout our entire time together! (Find him on Insta here… you’re welcome in advance!) A few of their bridesmaids came along to help out with Mr. Hoov, and all I have to say is that I am SO excited to work with this group again!! They came prepared with a bag full of everything we could possibly need during a crazy hot engagement session AND kept us all smiling the entire time. I cannot wait for you to get a sneak peek into Shanna & Connor’s classic DC engagement session! Keep on scrolling for more goodness from their session!
We started near the Building Museum, right next door to where these two lived for a few years!
We headed to Judiciary Square next! I love how these two chose locations that mean so much to them!
Onward to a park just off of Pennsylvania Ave… which meant that we obviously had to hop into the bike lanes for a few shots with the view of the Capitol!!!
