These two drove all the way from PENNSYLVANIA for their engagement session! It’s not often that couples drive that far for their sessions, but when Maddie saw Manassas Battlefields on the blog, she knew that this would be the perfect spot! She loves long, flowy grass and gorgeous rolling views, and that’s exactly what we got! This is truly one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions, and it was amazing to tour the historic and beautiful property with these two! Jon also loves history, so that was an amazing added bonus! We stopped to read a few signs, learned about the grounds along the way and admired the canons while discussing how the actual battlefields may have been laid out. It makes an engagement session all the more fun when my clients love their location!
Now… a little more about these two. Jon and Maddie have actually known each other since middle school! Jon always had a little crush on Maddie, but they never dated in grade school. They reconnected at Penn State a few years later(We Are!) during their junior year, and have been together ever since! I’ve actually known Maddie since we were both at Penn State… I actually photographed some of her graduation photos during our senior year! I met Jon for the first time during their engagement session, and right away, I could tell that these two love each other so well. They love to laugh together, and you can tell that they are happiest when they are together. I’m not exaggerating when I say my cheeks were sore as I drove home from their session… their joy is contagious!
After their engagement session, these two got to take a little mini weekend getaway and headed straight to DC for a weekend of touring. I always encourage my couples to do something fun after their engagement session to celebrate, and these two had an absolutely perfect idea!

Maddie’s ring may be one of my favorite rings that I have ever photographed. Not only is the yellow diamond absolutely stunning, but it holds such an incredible meaning. 
Their joy is my favorite thing!
