This blog post should probably be re-titled “that one time I photographed everyone’s doorstep in Georgetown…” but alas, here we are. Exploring Georgetown with camera in hand has been on my list for a minute now, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! This is actually May’s Wandering the District recap, but we got together on the very last day of the month, so it is coming to you in June! (oops!)

This month’s meetup was one for the books! We started with glasses of wine at a local cafe and then set out on foot to explore. We wandered through the cutest neighborhood streets and down the canal, finishing at another local spot for some eats and drinks. We joked that we were on a mini wine tour of Georgetown, and to be honest, I think I may need to make another trip back there to make a REAL wine tour happen! It was fun to get off the typical Georgetown stretches— like the canal and M Street (though we did see those too!) as we explored some of the back streets and alleyways. We found a house that Allie’s dad owned and renovated years ago, pet a few pups & enjoyed some gorgeous, glowy, golden light! We may have forgotten to take a group photo, but we had such a great time together!
One of my Flybarre clients (Hi Amy!!) knows all of the good spots around Georgetown, and she recommended Cafe Georgetown for happy hour (3-6 every day!)! I don’t know about y’all, but this girl is here for discounted glasses of wine! Just wait until you see their amazing tile floors… Cafe Georgetown felt like a cafe straight out Europe and had the best mix of wines, coffee & pastries!
I got the rosé! Anyone else instantly have Luke Combs “Beautiful Crazy” stuck in their head after reading the sign on the right? Onward to exploring town! I realized while culling that we totally forgot to take a group photo 😭 I don’t think there’s anything more impressive than the beautiful ivy that is all around Georgetown! It’s one of my favorite things! Allie’s dad used to live somewhere along this little stretch of houses! I can’t even imagine how magical this little alleyway looks nowadays with those twinkle lights turned on! Will never get over how CUTE this part of town is! Obsessed with these streets! So many adorable doorsteps and I’m obsessed with them all!
After our walk, we finished the evening with some eats, sips and board games at Church Hall!
