Kaley and Jared | A Fall Engagement Session in Great Falls, VA

AHH these two!!! I can’t even get over how sweet they are! I actually met Kaley and Jared at a wedding last year when they were in the wedding party for Lindsey and Zak! Jared is Zak’s brother and was his best man, and Kaley was a bridesmaid for Lindsey! These two were so sweet together all day long and danced the night away at the reception! I could tell that they had something super special, and I was hopeful that there was a chance that I would get them in front of my camera one day!! (Mostly because Kaley let me know that she was really hoping this would happen— soon!)

So… fast forward a few months, and I got an email from Kaley letting me know that these two were ENGAGED and wanted to schedule an engagement session with me for the fall! I mean… talk about a huge honor! Decided to meet in Great Falls, hoping for some pretty fall leaves and beautiful views. This was actually my very first time to visit Great Falls, and y’all… I was blown away! It seemed like autumn came overnight, with the most gorgeous yellow leaves everywhere we looked, and the falls themselves were SO impressive. Fortunately, these two had been to the park before and did a great job playing tour guide! I am definitely going to need to make another trip to this beautiful spot, just for fun!

Jared and Kaley met their freshman year at Marshall University. They were both college athletes and seemed to cross paths all the time. From the dining hall, athletic apartment and other get-togethers, they always seemed to be in the same place at the same time— Jared even lived right above Kaley in the dorms! They started dating when they were just 19 years old, and they have loved growing up together while experiencing different seasons of life by the other’s side. Jared asked Kaley to marry him while they were on vacation with Kaley’s parents. They were all driving to Lake Tahoe and stopped at a beautiful overlook off of the water! Kaley knew her parents wanted to stop at this overlook, but she didn’t know that they were in on Jared’s plan to find the perfect backdrop for his big question. After they made their way down to the water, Jared asked Kaley if she wanted him to make the trip just a little better and asked Kaley to marry him! Kaley had always hoped that her parents would be there when the proposal happened, so the fact that they were on vacation with them (and that her dad videoed the entire thing!) made the moment all the more special! Of course, she said YES!
