I’ve been so excited to share this engagement session with y’all for a WHILE now, and today… you get to see ALL the pretty from the afternoon I got to spend hanging with Anne and Andrew on Capitol Hill! They are some of the kindest people I think I’ve ever met, are new paw-rents to their adopted pup, Edna, and BOY do they know how to work the camera.
This sweet couple actually went to school together, but they didn’t meet until they were interning in Washington, DC! It was only fitting that they had their engagement session on one super iconic DC block that just so happens to be up the street from where they met AND where they call home these days! In the summer of 2015, both Anne and Andrew were interning in DC. They were living in the same house at the time (which also happens to be a few blocks away from where they live now!), and when they went back to campus the next semester, they started dating. The rest was pretty much history! They moved to DC just after their graduations and have been calling our nation’s capital home ever since.
Now… the proposal! Anne and Andrew’s birthdays are about a week apart, so they went to a nice restaurant to celebrate. They enjoyed dinner together, walked around town, and then headed home. Now… a little bit about their home! They have a super cute apartment within walking distance to the Capitol. They’ve lived there since moving to DC after graduation and have built such an amazing space together! They also have a super cool rooftop with views of pretty much the entire DC skyline. After dinner and their walk, Andrew mentioned that they hadn’t been up on the roof in a while. They got home, grabbed a drink, headed upstairs, and when they got there, Andrew had Anne close her eyes. Andrew asked Anne to spend forever with him, and of course, she said YES! He had previously stashed some celebratory champagne and glasses up on the roof, and they popped champagne and watched the sunset over the Capitol building.
It was so special to photograph these two in the city where they met, where they’ve built a home together all while getting to know them as a couple! We had so much fun touring town and finished off their session with the newest member of their family, Edna! They had just adopted her three weeks prior, and oh my goodness, is she one sweet pup! Enjoy a few of my favorites from our time together!
I just love these two! We got to explore SO many amazing and iconic DC views! I’ve never seen this adorable alleyway before, and I think it’s safe to say: I’m obsessed! We found some gorgeous fall colors, just up the street from their place! Meet Edna! How cute is she?! She loved being in front of the camera! I mean… that VIEW!!!
