Happy Wedding Wednesday, pals! Let’s hear it for the guys today!!! I feel like so many of my Wedding Wednesday posts cater towards the ladies, so today… I’m so excited to share a little something geared towards the guys! I’ve shared a post in the past with my recommendations for gifts for the ladies in your wedding party. (Click here to get caught up!) Today, I wanted to share a little something to help inspire gifts for your groomsmen! No, this isn’t a holiday gift guide (Sorry!), but should instead serve as a little inspo for wedding day gifting!
Now… I preface this post by saying:
GIFTS FOR YOUR WEDDING PARTY ARE NOT A REQUIREMENT.
While it is a sweet sentiment to thank the people that will be standing by your side on your wedding day with a little something, it absolutely isn’t a requirement or expectation. If you find yourself looking for a way to save a few dollars in your wedding budget, I do think your best friends and family members will understand if you opt to put the money that you would have spent on them into another part of your day or the future that you are building with your spouse.
With that being said, I get asked A LOT about what groomsmen gifts! When it comes to the ladies, I find these gifts tend to be a little easier because there are “more” things that they tend to need on a wedding day… think getting ready outfits, hair and makeup, and jewelry just to name a few! When it comes to the guys?! What can you give them that will be both useful and appreciated?!
Throughout my time in the wedding industry, I’ve noticed that a lot of groomsmen gifts tend to be centered around alcohol. This is totally fine (you know your crew!), but not everyone drinks or wants to drink on a wedding day. Personalized flasks are fun, but let’s be honest… how often will these be used after the day?
What if, instead of giving your guys a physical gift the day of your wedding, you offered to cover a portion of their suit rental or costs for their wedding day attire instead? Your crew will, not only be looking good, but they’ll be feeling good in their wedding day look too. In the end, you don’t always know what you’re best friends are going through financially. Sometimes, the best and most helpful gift could just be covering some of what it costs when you ask someone to stand beside you for your wedding!
Being in a wedding party can be pretty pricy, and having just a little help after paying for a bachelor party and other wedding travel costs, I can only imagine how nice it would be to be surprised with a little financial support for another wedding day expense!
With that being said, if you were looking for a few physical gift ideas, here are some of my favorites I’ve seen:
- Custom Cuff Links
- Watches
- Tie Clip
- A nice tie or another item y’all will be wearing on the wedding day
- Custom corkscrew or bottle opener
- Overnight bag or toiletry kit
- A bottle of their favorite alcohol
- Custom drinkware or cooler
- Wallets or money clips
- Personality/fun socks
