Y’all… I have to say— in-home engagement sessions may just be one of my new favorite things! Sahana and Wes came to me saying they didn’t think they wanted the “classic DC” feel for their session… that they wanted their relationship and their life together to take center stage… and that they really thought it would be cool to do a session in their own home. When they said this, the ideas started flowing and I couldn’t wait to start dreaming up what we could create together.
I suggested these two sit down and come up with something fun to do together as part of their session that would encapsulate what date night may feel like in their home. Wes and Sahana love making craft cocktails together, so we were sure to include that as a theme during their session. They also love time with their kitty, sunset on their rooftop overlooking the city, and relaxing together, deep in conversation about life, their day at work, or the latest and greatest on Bravo. We incorporated all of that (and a little more!) during their session, and WOW I just love how unique and THEM their session feels.
They met a few years ago at work, what they laughed and called a typical DC meeting, and soon fell in love! They were engaged a few years later in Rock Creek Park. Wes loves how great of a listener Sahana is… she gives advice from the soul and is incredibly smart and intuitive. He says she makes great company too, whether that be together at home on the couch or with friends at a party! Sahana loves that Wes can make anyone feel comfortable around him with his perceptive and relaxed nature and also loves how nerdy he is about his love for history.
These two are easy-going, sweet, and so incredibly caring. It was such a joy to see them in their home environment, to tour their neighborhood with them, and to point out all our favorite landmarks on the horizon out their windows and on their rooftop (They have an amazing view!)! They were married during the pandemic, but the countdown is ON to their celebration with their family and friends in Washington, DC. I cannot WAIT to see what they have planned!
