Asking a couple to get up before the crack of dawn for their engagement session can feel pretty bold, but when I tell you it is WORTH IT every dang time, just let this post be your proof! Morning light at Constitution Gardens is absolutely dreamy and gives you the PERFECT views of the Washington Monument.
I met Mary and Joe at sunrise for their Constitution Gardens engagement session in Washington, DC a few weeks back, and y’all… just wait until you see the sunrise glow we found!
You can tell these two have hearts of gold and are the perfect match for each other. Mary and Joe went to Villanova together and started dating towards the end of their senior year. They’ve been together ever since! Joe asked Mary to marry him one beautiful October evening. After drinks, they walked towards the back patio of The Kennedy Center where Joe proposed to Mary! All of their family and friends were back at a friend’s apartment to celebrate this exciting new chapter… so sweet!
Sunrise sessions can be a little tricky… you never really know what the sky is going to look like when the sun comes up! I remember waking up and hearing rain on my sunroof and panicking… we had our permit secured, I was sure these two were up and getting ready, and the forecast had been reading as absolutely beautiful for our morning all week. Somehow, the rain cleared, and when the sun started cracking, I soon realized that we were going to get THE most beautiful morning light. Though the ground was a little wet and made totally off-roading more difficult than usual, our morning couldn’t have been more perfect! Mary and Joe snuggled and twirrled and have me SO excited for their PA wedding day in May of 2023!
We found THE most perfect spring blossoms with the best light! Couldn’t ask for much more to make this photographer happy!
These two are the sweetest!
Love when couples rock a dressed up look and a casual look during their engagement session!
