When I say I am having the hardest time trying to find the words to express just how incredible Katie and Chris’s wedding day was, I’m not kidding! Their wedding day was one I could live over and over again and never ever tire of. They are one of the sweetest and most thoughtful couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with and really love to laugh together. Remembering both of these qualities from their engagement session this past winter so had me looking forward to Katie and Chris’s Downingtown Country Club wedding… but nothing could have prepared me for just how fabulous their day was!
Katie and Chris met at Penn State (My kind of people!) and were engaged in August 2019 during a family vacation. While Katie and Chris had originally hoped to tie the knot in 2021, they decided to push their plans to 2022 for the safety of their loved ones. I can 100% say that their day was worth the wait! With a couple this sweet and a day this beautiful (Seriously… it could have been SO much hotter for an end of July wedding!), I’m pretty sure we all ended the day with sore cheeks!
Katie and Chris were nothing but smiles throughout their entire wedding day! It was so, so special to celebrate the start of a brand new chapter in Katie and Chris’s story during their Downingtown Country Club wedding!
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Katie’s bridal suite and found her and her bridesmaids hair and makeup complete! She was absolutely glowing, and READY to say I do. She had spent so much time curating every thoughtful detail and planning every finishing touch… once her and Chris’s wedding day was here, she was in the perfect position to relax! From there, the day went off without a hitch.
Chris had mentioned that he was feeling a little nervous just before their first look, but you could see all of his nerves melt right into excitement the second he embraced his beautiful bride. Katie and Chris are the kind of couple that can communicate with just a glance… they know each other so well. Katie and Chris wrote their own vows, exchanged during their outdoor ceremony, surrounded by their family and friends. They spoke about their story, their favorite quirks in their partner, and how they are so, so excited to spend forever together. While these two had smiles on their faces all day long, they shined the brightest as they recessed down the aisle just after becoming husband and wife!
I love that these two allowed for so much portrait time in their timeline. Not only did we get to create some seriously beautiful images together in SO many places on the property (A DREAM!), but Katie and Chris also got to spend SO much much time together on their wedding day. While we snuck away from their reception for sunset portraits, Katie and Chris took a deep breath and each other’s hand as we walked up a path find some gorgeous glow. They were soaking in the moment and taking a second just to be present on such a special day— their gratitude and joy for finally being able to hold hands with their SPOUSE was written all over their grins.
Once Katie and Chris got back inside, the party really got going! Their guests were ready to dance and celebrate these two. You could totally tell that music is special to these two and their guests— they had so many memories and inside jokes with the people they danced with. From Katie and her brother breaking it down to Come on Eileen to Katie and her bridesmaids grooving to Smash Mouth, everything on their wedding day, including the songs played during their reception, had thought, care, and meaning put behind it.

These two are enjoying their honeymoon in Florida at Disney! Katie is pretty much a master Disney planner, so I can only imagine that they are in for a trip of a lifetime! While they enjoy the rides, the views, and the Mickey ice cream bars in sunny Florida, you can catch a sneak peek into their Downingtown Country Club wedding day! I can’t WAIT for you to see the sweet way these two look at each other!
