When I tell you this Fort Hunter engagement session has been burning a hole in my blog queue for months, I’m not lying! I am SO excited to finally get Alyssa and Quinn on your screen because DANG we created some magic together.
I’ve known Alyssa since we were both in college, meeting when she lived with my sister on Beaver Ave in State College. When she reached out to me about photographing her WEDDING, I instantly felt like the luckiest person in the world. Alyssa is one of the kindest and most bubbly people I know, and I know just how much she has been looking forward to marrying the man of her dreams. To be the one to photograph such a special season for her and Quinn means the absolute world.
Now… a little more about these two.
Alyssa and Quinn met for their first date in Mechanicsburg, PA in late summer, 2019. Fast forward just a few weeks, and Quinn was invited to my family’s Penn State tailgate which just so happened to be the Penn State vs Purdue game (Both Alyssa and Quinn’s Alma Maters— Penn State for Alyssa and Purdue for Quinn). Alyssa’s parents would also be attending the game, so Quinn was, not only meeting his new girlfriend’s parents, but was also meeting so many of Alyssa’s closest friends in one weekend. No pressure, right?! With the weekend passing with a tour of campus, a Penn State win, and many fun memories, Quinn left with everyone’s stamp of approval.
Fast forward a few years, and Alyssa and Quinn were on a trip to NYC for a birthday weekend and Valentine’s Day. I remember secretly hoping that we may get a text that Quinn had gotten down on one knee (I mean… how romantic would that be?!), but ultimately just wanted these two to have a fun time! That said, Quinn did GOOD and planned the sweetest proposal for the two of them. He proposed to Alyssa in Central Park where they promptly called their parents and cried the happiest, celebratory tears!
Alyssa loves Quinn’s subtle and quiet sense of humor. On their first date, she thought that he was pretty quiet, and then he came out of nowhere and said something really funny. It surprised her and made her laugh really hard. It’s still just like that all the time, and it’s what she loves most about him. Quinn loves that Alyssa is his best friend and is the one person he can be his true self around. She has always been an incredible support, and he knows she will always be by his side.
We celebrated their engagement with their Fort Hunter engagement session back in August!
Fort Hunter is one of my favorite engagement session locations because of the versatility and diversity of locations in one park. You get water views, a gorgeous manor home with gardens, trees, and even views of the bridges running over the river. In short, it’s GORGEOUS… made even more gorgeous by the sweet couple I got to work with! I had spent the weeks leading up to Alyssa and Quinn’s wedding day hoping that they would bring along their pup, Goose and was more than excited when Alyssa let me know that she and Quinn would be bringing him along. We all had so much fun touring a few different spots with Goose along for the fun (He was SUCH a good boy!). After Alyssa’s brother picked up Goose, we finished their Fort Hunter engagement session in outfit #2 and found some of THE most gorgeous golden light.
For an August engagement session, we got pretty lucky. It was hot, but not hot, hot, the light was a dream, and we were able to manage to make it look like we had the park all to ourselves! In short, Alyssa and Quinn’s engagement session was an absolute joy to photograph and has me counting down the days to Alyssa and Quinn’s July 2023 wedding day! I know you are just dying to see their images, so let’s get to the good stuff.
Goose is the sweetest.
Still not over Alyssa’s gorgeous ring!
One of my faves! Alyssa… you are glowing!
