For years and years, I’ve been someone that is self proclaimed as being “terrified of babies.” If you’re seeing this post and wondering… “Uhh Caity aren’t you pivoting into incorporating newborn and family photography?!” Yes… this is true, and also, yes, the previous statement is totally true! There is a lot more to newborn photography than many people realize… between posing, soothing, swaddling, safely handling fragile babies… there is a lot to consider! The reason I was so terrified though was because I knew I lacked the proper training that I knew I would want anyone handling my (future) babies to have… that was until I met Marie!

Marie is an insanely talented newborn and maternity photographer who has recently become an incredible mentor to me…. and helped me overcome feeling absolutely terrified of newborns despite having wanting to work with them (And their families) for years.We met virtually to discuss my crazy dreams, big goals, and future strategy… and then a few weeks later, we met with a sweet fam in person (Who also happened to be one of my dear friends and talented wedding photographer who is also named Marie!) where we practiced swaddling, posing, and soothing baby, all while creating some really beautiful images together.

In short, the experience was an absolute dream and gave me so much confidence as I step into a new season of calling myself a Baltimore County Newborn Photographer.

We met just a few days after baby I. made her entrance into the world, and as Marie opened the door, I was blown away to see that, somehow, she was ready in full hair and makeup with both of her sweet girls ready to rock. In short, she and her husband, Daniel, win super human parents of the year! From there, we had a great time snuggling and celebrating their sweet family of four. I loved meeting her oldest, after hearing so much about her over the last couple of years, and it was such a joy to get to see Marie in mom mode (As I usually see her in wedding photographer mode!).

This sweet family of four was a dream to photograph, and I can’t thank them enough for taking the time to model during such a busy season. They couldn’t have been more perfect to kickstart such a special wing of my business that means so much to me and will mean so much to so many families.

I am beyond excited about all of the motherhood, maternity, and newborn session details that I have in the works. From a Motherhood client closet, to brand new prints and products designed to preserve your legacy, and a completely redesigned experience like nothing I have ever offered before… there is SO much good to come.
