When I think back on Bridget and Pat’s day, the words joyful, full circle, and absolutely meant to be come to mind… but I’ll let their Philadelphia Cricket Club wedding photos speak for themselves! Their wedding day was thoughtfully planned, beautifully designed, and over two decades in the making!
You see… Bridget and Pat met in first grade and then married 20+ years later in the church where they grew up, just steps away from the room where they first connected! It was abundantly clear that they were beyond excited for this moment to be here from the smiles that didn’t leave their faces for a moment throughout the day. It was so special to witness their union so close to where it all began many, many years ago! (Well… the romance part didn’t begin for another couple of years, but that’s a story for another time!)
I had been looking forward to their wedding day since they booked, but after their engagement session in downtown Philly, I was all but counting down the days until these two became husband and wife! Bridget and Pat are just one of those couples that are meant to be and are such a joy to be around. Their love is the real deal. They are hilariously fun together, make any stranger feel like instant family, and have a way of communicating with just a glance that only soulmates do. I knew their wedding day would be absolutely fabulous, and WOW, was it incredible.
We will get to their gorgeous Philadelphia Cricket Club wedding photos in a moment, but first, a quick recap of the magic that was Bridget and Pat’s wedding day!
Bridget and her gals got ready at her childhood home which was just the sweetest start to the most amazing day. When I arrived, hair and makeup was in full swing while those who weren’t in the hair and makeup chairs were enjoying snacks and mimosas in the kitchen. Smiles and giggles were abundant as the ladies had their finishing touches, and soon, it was time for Bridget and her dad’s first look! They met on their family’s front lawn as family watched from close by! Before we knew it, it was time to head over to the church where Bridget and Pat’s families met.
Bridget and Pat were married at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church which also happens to be the place where they first met! They chose to see each other for the first time at the altar, and one of my favorite parts of the day was seeing them exchange giddy smiles while they sat and enjoyed their ceremony. You could feel their excitement from the altar, and as they walked hand in hand out of the church as husband and wife, Pat’s fist pump and cheer said it all! They were both so excited to be MARRIED! These two celebrated being married with a few portraits in the first grade classroom where they met many years ago and a run and a few twirls through the halls of the school.
After that, it was off to Philadelphia Cricket Club for wedding party, family, and couple’s portraits!
If you know me, you know that PCC is one of my favorite wedding venues— their celebration space is stunning, their crew is top notch, and the property is the perfect backdrop for a newly married couple! We quickly rocked our way through our to-do list, and had plenty of time leftover for couple’s portraits! At one point, we were a good 20 minutes ahead of schedule, which, if you know how time works on a wedding day, is pretty incredible! This was all thanks to Bridget and Pat’s careful planning and attention to detail throughout the entire process!
It was so evident to see how much love, care, and creativity they poured into their day. From their custom corn hole boards to photos from grade school set out to greet guests upon arrival and a timeline built so they could enjoy time with their favorite people at cocktail hour, it was evident that so much hard work went into making their dream day as amazing as it was.
After toasting to the newlyweds, guests took to the dance floor and were READY to celebrate! Seriously… I don’t think I saw the dance floor slow down for a moment. Between silly dance moves, lots of laughs, and plenty of singing along to the music, everyone (Photog team included!!) had an absolute blast. Their band was incredible (Shoutout, Strangers – BVT Live!), playing hit after hit and kept the dance floor filled late into the night. It was so much fun to see Bridget and Pat dance the night away surrounded by their favorite people.
