I am so dang excited to share the incredible engagement session of Parker and Dawn in charming Old Town Alexandria, VA. As a wedding photographer, it is always an honor to capture such special moments for couples, especially when I have a personal connection! I know Parker from our time at Penn State— we actually served on the THON Photography Committee together when I was a freshman!

Back in April, we got together to photograph their engagement session, and GOSH, was it fun. Not only did I get to catch up with an old friend, but I also got to meet a new one in Dawn! Parker and Dawn are the kind of couple that are just easy to be around. They are down to earth and so incredibly sweet!

We’ll get to the good stuff in just a moment, but first… a little more about these two and their sweet rescue, Goose!

Y’all already know I love when a couple brings their dog to their session…

But when a couple brings their tripod rescue pup… you better bet that I am going to be more than a little bit obsessed!

One of the most heartwarming aspects of Parker and Dawn’s engagement session was the presence of their adorable tripod rescue husky, Goose. Throughout the morning, Goose stole the show with his sweet and playful nature. We made sure to keep him happy by showering him with treats, and he truly worked it for the camera! The love and bond between Parker, Dawn, and Goose were evident in every shot, making it a joyous experience for all.

Parker and Dawn are a dynamic and active couple, constantly embarking on exciting adventures and sharing their hikes, walks, and explorations with their beloved pups online.

(Seriously… I’m exhausted just watching how many miles they do every weekend!) It comes as no surprise that Parker chose to propose to Dawn during one of their adventures. The breathtaking Appalachian Trail served as the backdrop for this unforgettable moment, where Parker got down on one knee and asked Dawn to spend forever with him at an overlook. Their passion for adventure and the great outdoors is a beautiful reflection of their relationship!

One of the things Parker admires most about Dawn is her ability to have fun, regardless of the circumstances. Her infectious laughter and positive energy light up every room they enter. Parker cherishes the moments they spend together, creating memories filled with laughter, adventure, and endless love.

Dawn is incredibly grateful to have Parker by her side, supporting and encouraging her to become a better person every day. His unwavering belief in her abilities and his constant encouragement have helped Dawn grow and thrive. Their love is an inspiration, reminding us all of the power of a supportive partner.

We explored Old Town Alexandria, VA at sunrise for their engagement session, and my goodness, was it gorgeous!

On the day of their engagement session, the weather was mild, sunny, and absolutely perfect. It was an ideal setting to capture the love and happiness radiating from Parker and Dawn. We embarked on a journey to explore the iconic spots in Old Town Alexandria, immersing ourselves in its charm and beauty. From the picturesque waterfront to the quaint neighborhood streets and alleys, and even the enchanting Carlyle House gardens, every location served as the perfect backdrop for their love story.

With its historic charm and picturesque settings, Alexandria added an extra touch of magic to Parker and Dawn’s photos. The waterfront views, cobblestone streets, and hidden alleyways created a romantic atmosphere that perfectly complemented their love story.

Dawn and Parker’s connection as a couple is palpable, and it was a pleasure to witness and capture their genuine moments together.

As we continue to count down the days until their wedding in October, I couldn’t resist sharing a sneak peek into their spring engagement session.
