Anna and Chloe, roomies turned besties, recently celebrated their graduation from George Washington University! Graduating with the class of 2023, these amazing gals pursued their passions and earned degrees that reflect their unique interests and aspirations. Anna pursued Environmental Studies, while Chloe delved into the realms of Political Science and Psychology.
Today, I’m SO excited to share a glimpse into our magical morning at the Lincoln!
The morning of their grad portrait session marked the early days of a bustling graduation season on the National Mall. I’m so glad these two were patient because the crowds were out in full force, but DANG, the end result was worth the waiting. We got to incorporate so many iconic views that just scream DC, a city that is so special for these two grads!
Their session began right at the Reflecting Pool just as the sun cracked the horizon.
Yes, it was an early wake-up call, but WOW was it worth it for the gorgeous glow! We took a combination of individual and group photos before making our way over to the steps of Lincoln.
As their session progressed, Anna and Chloe ventured into the heart of the Lincoln Memorial, tossing caps surrounded by ornate columns and gorgeous white marble.
To conclude their grad portrait session, Anna and Chloe posed along the gorgeous tree-lined paths leading to the monument. After the hustle and bustle of grads at the monument, the quiet side stretches of the mall were a welcome change of pace! (Even if we did almost get run over by a few bikers…)
Anna and Chloe’s grad portrait session not only marked the culmination of their academic journey but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
Anna and Chloe both hope to stay in DC to begin their professional careers, and I so loved that they chose to have their grad photos taken in a place that holds so much meaning for them! Lincoln just screams all things DC, so I love that they will forever have photos in a place that represents so much personal and professional growth!
These gals are as fun as they are gorgeous, and as hilarious together as you would think… they made our morning together so easy and so much fun! They kept each other hyped up throughout their entire session together, even through the crazy crowds that spring tends to bring to the National Mall!
Since our session, I have so loved watching them enjoy their first post-grad summer together over on IG!
I can’t wait to see what the future brings for these two, and I know they are sure to do big things! Cheers to their futures, their friendship, and the city where their adventures all began!
Now… are you ready to scroll through our gorgeous morning together?!
PS Future grads dreaming of a session at the Lincoln Memorial should note that it’s currently under construction until 2026. Don’t worry, though! There are plenty of alternative locations in DC that offer equally stunning backdrops. This session features one of my recommended itineraries for grads to use throughout construction. You can check out the project details and explore other options here.
