Today’s blog post is a special one! Emily and Joey are two of the kindest souls and hosted THE most stunning fall wedding day! This was also my final CKP wedding of the year, and y’all, I don’t think I could have asked for a more perfect way to wrap up one incredible season!
You could tell that Emily and Joey put so much time, thought and care into planning each and every detail of their wedding day. From the way they honored their siblings in their wedding party, to the US National Parks details that they chose to incorporate in their reception decor, to the items built by Emily’s dad, songs played at their reception, family heirlooms and antiques peppered throughout their venue, and so much more, the story their wedding told was truly one that was so incredibly sweet and reflective of the life Emily and Joey are building together. You can tell that family is so important to these two, and you can tell that these two are so important to their families. It was just so sweet to see how loved these two are by the people in their lives, and it was a huge honor to be asked to photograph so many sweet moments.
Emily and Joey’s day started out at Emily’s childhood home, where she got ready with her mom, Joey’s sister, and Joey’s mom. She shared a teary first look with her dad in front of the home where she grew up, and after a few hugs with her parents, we headed over to The Barn at Grimmel Farms! There, Joey was waiting for his bride. These two shared their first look as their moms looked on with tears in their eyes, and the rest of the day was a whirlwind of hugs, giggles & photos with the people that mean the most to these Emily and Joey! We ran AHEAD of schedule for most of the day (which is a BIG deal on a wedding day!), and though it may have been a super chilly fall day, you never would have known! Emily and Joey were so excited to officially become husband and wife.
Emily and Joey’s day was absolutely stunning and so incredibly meaningful. I can’t wait for you to get a sneak peek into the gorgeous day that these two worked so hard to plan.
Congratulations, Emily and Joey! I so hope you are enjoying your time in Nashville! Wishing you a lifetime of adventures together, dances to your favorite songs & National Parks visits!
I love when brides include sweet family heirlooms on their wedding day! First look with dad! So sweet 💕
First look time!! Emily… you make the most STUNNING bride! One of my favorites!! Emily and Joey chose to honor their siblings by having them as their wedding party! It was so sweet! These bouquets were SOO pretty! Gorgeous ladies! Emily’s dad worked so hard on crafting items for Emily and Joey’s wedding day! He made the arbor that E&J stood under as they said their I Do’s! Love these fall colors! So sweet! Emily and Joey were actually married by the man that officiated Emily’s parents wedding. If that isn’t the sweetest thing EVER, I don’t know what is. Emily and Joey planted a tree during their ceremony— what a sweet tradition & heirloom to hold onto from your wedding day! MARRIED!! Emily wore her mom’s veil for her ceremony! Emily’s mom collects antiques and lent a few amazing pieces to E&J for reception decor! Emily’s dad handcrafted the beautiful centerpiece boxes that held their florals and the card holders for their table numbers! The table “numbers” were postcards from National Parks! Such a perfect way to include the theme of adventure throughout Emily and Joey’s wedding day! This CAKE!!! 😍 These two love to dance and know how to throw a great party!! Photos like this one mean so much to me! Love my CKP Couples!! Sweet Bridget and Peter introduced me to Emily and Joey. I am so thankful for all of these sweet souls. Congrats, cuties! Thank you so much for trusting me to capture your day and to celebrate alongside you two and your families!
