You know those days that you wish you could bottle up and keep forever? That was this day! With endless sunshine, perfectly mild spring temps, and a couple so excited to celebrate officially being husband and wife, I wish we could all live Shannon and Dema’s Oxon Hill Manor wedding day over and over again!
These two waited eleven years (!!) to officially become husband and wife, so when I say they (and their crew!) were ready to celebrate, they were READY to celebrate! With a packed dance floor and smiles that seemed to never leave the happy couple’s faces, it was such a joy to see just how much fun Shannon and Dema have together and with their closest people. With a day that started with a ceremony at the very church where Dema’s parents were married years ago and a celebration at the manor where Shannon’s parents celebrated their own wedding day, these two chose to honor some of their closest family members in such meaningful (and beautiful!) ways.
This may just be one of the BIGGEST wedding parties that I’ve ever photographed, but they were such a well-oiled machine, thanks to all of Shannon and Dema’s prep work. These two surround themselves with the best people and thought of everything too! You could tell that they worked so hard during their wedding planning. It was so special to see how it all came together in such a seamless way, allowing them to celebrate fully with their people because everything was taken care of ahead of time!
While Shannon and Dema are off enjoying their first few days as husband and wife in sunny paradise, here’s a quick sneak peek from Saturday’s beautiful wedding day!
You would have never guessed that these were in the basement of the church! Give me some natural light and a white wall, and we can make MAGIC happen!
Time to get these two married!
11 years in the making… MARRIED!
Then we were off to their venue for portraits and their party!
Shannon and Dema, y’all are so loved!
GAH the florals… the dresses… I’m OBSESSED!
Shannon… you make such a beautiful bride!
Y’all know I love a good veil toss… one of my faves!
Quick pre-ceremony bustle and bridal portraits in THE most stunning bridal suite!
And then it was time to party!
How GORGEOUS was their tented reception space?!
We snuck out for some sunset portraits right after toasts, and IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE SECOND. So grateful these two let me steal them for a moment! 😍
I spy the National Harbor ferris wheel!
TOLD YA! Their dance floor was one for the BOOKS!
That’s how you KNOW the cake was good!
Thank you, Shannon and Dema, for having me along to photograph your day!
