In the heat of summer, the stunning canals of Georgetown set the stage for Katie and Dan’s beautiful engagement session. Today, I’m so excited to recap our time together while sharing ALLLLLL of the pretty that we got to create together.
Katie, Dan, Grayson (Their sweet rescue pup!), and I embarked on their Georgetown Canal engagement session on a warm August day.
Even amid the hustle and bustle of Georgetown’s lively streets, their palpable excitement was infectious. The couple’s adorable pup, Grayson, seemed as thrilled as anyone could be, ready to steal the spotlight with his silly antics.
Navigating the picturesque Georgetown canals, we discovered countless iconic views, while Grayson found an assortment of intriguing scents to explore. Lauren, a good friend of the couple, was also part of this memorable engagement session, ensuring Grayson stayed safe, hydrated, and entertained while his parents posed for the camera.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over everything in sight, we continued our journey through Georgetown.
We relished the beautiful water views, lush summer grass, and colorful blossoms, perfectly capturing the essence of Katie and Dan’s Georgetown Canal engagement session! Now… a little more about these cuties!
Kickball played matchmaker for Katie and Dan!
Joining a random team where they knew no one else, the pair quickly hit it off. Post-season, their friendship took a romantic turn when Dan mustered the courage to ask Katie out on a date. Their chosen venue, Punch Bowl Social, marked the beginning of their love story. You could say the rest was history after that first date!
Fast forward to Katie’s 30th birthday, celebrated with a camping trip in the company of close friends and family. Dan seized this opportunity to propose to Katie during a private morning hike overlooking the Potomac. The unsuspecting birthday girl had no inkling of Dan’s plans until he suggested a hike for just the two of them. Naturally, this sparked hope in Katie that a proposal might be imminent.
When the anticipated moment finally arrived, Katie gleefully said “YES”, setting the stage for a day filled with celebrations.
Katie’s love for Dan is profound and all-encompassing.
She cherishes his readiness for adventure and enjoys spending quality time with him. In her eyes, Dan is intelligent, kind, funny— her rock. Dan’s admiration and respect for Katie were evident throughout their Georgetown Canal engagement session. The way he looks at Katie and holds her close speaks volumes about his feelings for her. He looks at her with the sweetest twinkle in his eye and holds her in a way that just looks like home.
As we look forward to celebrating their wedding day in October, I can’t help but feel excited for the joyous journey that lies ahead for this delightful couple.
