When Jaclyn and Britain decided to commemorate their 10th wedding anniversary, they knew it had to be an extraordinary affair! This delightful duo, along with their adorable son Christopher, kicked off the festivities before the crack of dawn, bundling up against the freezing winter morning chill to embark on creating some unforgettable Navy Yard anniversary photos along the Potomac River.

Glamorously attired, Jaclyn rocked her pristine wedding gown (yes, THE one she wore ten years ago!!) accentuated by an iconic emerald cape that added a touch of regal elegance. Meanwhile, Britain and Christopher looked dashing in custom-tailored tuxedos, exuding an air of refined sophistication. Coats, gloves, and cloaks were our trusty sidekicks, shielding them from the brisk temperatures in between frames as we photographed the magic of their milestone celebration.

As the first rays of sunlight peeked over the horizon, the waterfront area of Navy Yard transformed into a breathtaking backdrop, bathed in the warm, golden hues of the morning light.

This enchanting ambiance provided the perfect setting for our photography adventure, allowing us to explore and immortalize the love shared by this remarkable family.

Despite the chilly conditions, Jaclyn, Britain, and Christopher were absolute troopers, braving the elements with unwavering enthusiasm and infectious smiles. The stunning results were well worth the early wake-up call and frosty fingers in my very humble opinion!

While these Navy Yard anniversary photos were undoubtedly an amazing way to commemorate a decade of marriage, the real magic lies in the enduring love that Jaclyn and Britain have cultivated over the years!

Their journey began in the most serendipitous of ways, at a Presbyterian church camp in Central Texas, where they first crossed paths during their college years.

Fate had a way of intertwining their paths, as they reunited the following summer at the same camp, igniting a spark that would eventually blossom into a beautiful romance. Britain was embarking on his PhD journey at Baylor University, while Jaclyn prepared to complete her final year of undergraduate studies at Syracuse.

Despite the distance, their connection only grew stronger, and that fateful summer, they took the leap and began dating. As the season drew to a close, Jaclyn penned a heartfelt “Dear John” letter, acknowledging the depth of her feelings for Britain while recognizing the challenges that lay ahead.

However, their story was far from over!

They remained in touch throughout the fall semester, with Jaclyn flying home to visit Britain and him reciprocating the gesture by driving back with her. It was during a New Year’s Eve party that a pivotal moment occurred – someone referred to Jaclyn as Britain’s girlfriend, and her denial was met with a crestfallen expression from her beloved.

In that instant, they realized the depth of their bond and the need to define their relationship. On New Year’s Day in 2010, over burgers and fries, they made the decision to embark on a relationship, solidifying their commitment to one another.

Fast forward three years, almost to the date, and on New Year’s Eve in 2013, Jaclyn and Britain exchanged vows in a heartwarming ceremony.

The officiant’s homily struck a chord, emphasizing the importance of choosing each other and embracing the adventures that lay ahead – a sentiment that resonated deeply with the couple’s shared love for exploration and savoring every moment together.

As they reflect on the past decade of marriage, Jaclyn and Britain beam with pride and gratitude. For Jaclyn, the journey has been one of incredible growth, both individually and as a couple, with each passing year revealing new facets of her partner’s character and deepening their bond as a pair.

Britain, on the other hand, finds joy in the simple act of starting a family with his best friend, cherishing the countless moments of laughter, love, and shared experiences that have woven the tapestry of their lives together.

Throughout their journey, Jaclyn and Britain have been blessed with the addition of their son, Christopher, who embodies the love and thoughtfulness that define this extraordinary family.

Together, they continue to seek out new adventures, embracing every opportunity to explore, create lasting memories, and savor the joy of being in each other’s company.

Their Navy Yard anniversary photos portrait session was not merely a celebration of a milestone; it was a testament to the enduring power of commitment, resilience, and the unwavering belief that love knows no bounds, even in the face of life’s challenges!

I so hope you enjoy a scroll through our beautiful, glow-y, winter morning together!
