Ah, the magic of spontaneity! (Something that does NOT come naturally to me!) Little did I know that a spur-of-the-moment idea would blossom into a delightful afternoon photographing so many sweet families!
I always hope to make mini sessions happen, but back in November last year, I found myself juggling a packed schedule when the leaves were at their best! I had somewhat given up on the idea of being able to make them happen, but deep down, I hoped to squeeze in some family mini sessions! (It’s just so much fun to connect with so many sweet families in one afternoon!)
You see, orchestrating fall mini sessions can be a bit of a delicate dance— managing busy weekend agendas with the peak fall foliage can be quite the challenge!
That said, somehow, this round of family mini sessions in Baltimore came together quickly (and in such a beautiful way!) last November.
When Courtney, a dear friend and now coworker at the barre studio where we both teach, reached out with the sweetest request – to photograph her and her son for their Christmas card just before his last Christmas before heading to college— I knew I wanted to make things work! Our schedules miraculously aligned, and in a heartbeat, what was once just a hope to put minis on the calendar blossomed into a full-fledged event— because… why not make one family session into a marathon of minis?!
Courtney and her son, Ben, were the first to meet me in Riverside Park, their smiles kicking off the day with so much joy!
Next, I found myself reunited with Lynn, an old friend and client, and her delightful family. Their infectious laughter and warmth is always sure to brighten my day! I got to round things off with my sister and her family which was just the sweetest full circle moment! You see… when I took her family photos the year before, she was pregnant and just didn’t know it yet! This year, sweet baby L was centerstage in the photos. She was so adorable, and now looking back on the photos, it is so crazy to see just how much she has grown!
We got SO lucky with both the weather and fall foliage aligning!
November can be a bit tricky when it comes to the weather, yet somehow, the temperatures were surprisingly mild for the season! In fact, it was one of our last warm-ish days before winter fully made an appearance! Mother Nature was also bringing her absolute BEST with the leaves and the golden hour glow. The tones of orange, red, and yellow could not have made more of a stunning backdrop for this round of family mini sessions in Baltimore!
I can’t wait for you to scroll through my beautiful afternoon with three of the sweetest families!
PS mini session dates and details are in the works for 2024! I am tentatively holding the weekend of November 2 and 3 with details to come soon! My email list always receives first access, so if you are interested, be sure to add yourself for updates by clicking here!
