You know those people that you could spend hours and hours with and never get tired of their company? That’s Steve and Mikey! These two are the kind of people who make you feel like you’ve known them forever, and I was beyond lucky to be a part of their special day.
While I can’t wait to share their full engagement session (stay tuned for that!), today, I’m thrilled to give you a sneak peek into their beautiful Quiet Waters Park elopement.
Steve and Mikey’s love story began on Hinge a few years ago, and it wasn’t long before they knew they were meant to be. After a sweet proposal at a winery, with their best friends and parents there to witness, they began to plan their nuptials. They wanted something simple and beautiful—an intimate day surrounded by their closest family and friends, where the focus was on celebrating their love with the people who mean the most to them.
Their vision came to life at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The weather was absolutely gorgeous (despite a little rain in the forecast earlier that week keeping us on our toes), and I was holding my breath until the skies cleared for their big day. When I arrived, their nearest and dearest were already assembling in the park’s beautiful gazebo, helping set up drinks, ceremony décor, and all the little details that would make the day uniquely theirs.
Soon enough, it was time for the ceremony!
Hand in hand, Steve and Mikey made their way into the gazebo, surrounded by their family and closest friends, to become husbands. I have to say, their ceremony was one of the most emotional and heartfelt I’ve ever witnessed, filled with personal touches from their parents and plenty of happy tears from them and the people closest to them.
One detail that absolutely stole my heart was a beautiful tradition I had never seen before. Each of their family members and wedding party members brought soil from their own homes. During the ceremony, Steve and Mikey combined this soil together to symbolize the solid foundation of support from their loved ones. It was such a meaningful moment and a sweet reminder of the community that surrounds them.
After their heartfelt “I do’s,” we gathered everyone together for some family and wedding party photos before heading off to explore Quiet Waters Park for some newlywed portraits!
Steve and Mikey were full of joy, laughter, and sweet stollen glances, giggling and snuggling their way through each shot. Their Quiet Waters Park elopement was an absolute joy to photograph, and I’m so excited for you to see a glimpse of their sweet day.
I can’t wait for you to catch a glimpse of their wedding below! Stay tuned for more from these two—I’m already counting down the days until I’m caught up and can share their full engagement session with you too!
Thank you, Steve and Mikey! It was such a joy to celebrate with you two!
