Lifestyle newborn photos in Baltimore always hold a special place in my heart, but this session was extra special for so many reasons. Sweet baby L is now over a year old, bubbly and bright, and truly one of the cutest little humans in the world. She was born last December, just a few days before Christmas, and made it home just in time to celebrate with her family. And as luck would have it, her mama and I go way back—we teach together at The Bar Method!
This was actually my final session of 2023 (yes, I’m finally making my way through the session blog queue!), and I can’t think of a better way to wrap up such an incredible year.
I spent the holidays in Baltimore with my own family, so the timing worked out perfectly to meet up with Lindsey, her pup Molly, and baby L at their home just a few days after Christmas. Our morning together was filled with the sweetest moments—baby L was the perfect little angel, all snuggly and sleepy, snoozing her way through her newborn session like a pro.
Looking back on these lifestyle newborn photos in Baltimore, it’s touching and also a little heartbreaking to see how much has changed in such a short time.
You see… I’m so lucky to photograph families as they live their lives together. So much can change in just one year. Now, just over a year later, baby L is full of personality, loves to dance, and is as adorable as ever. (She has THE cutest cheeks!) One of the most bittersweet parts of revisiting this session is remembering sweet Molly, baby L’s older puppy sister, who passed away in July. I’m so grateful we were able to include her in these images—her gentle stubbornness and love for her family were undeniable.
It’s moments like these that make me truly appreciate just how much of an honor it is to be invited to photograph some of the sweetest moments of the lives of my friends, their families, and their pups. Life moves so fast, and being able to freeze these fleeting moments in time is such an honor. I’ll forever be grateful to Lindsey for inviting me into her home to document this season for her family.
Baby L, you are so loved, and I can’t wait to see all the joy you continue to bring into the world!
