Wedding Day at the Maryland Zoo | Kourtney and Sean

Some couples just feel like magic. These two? Absolute soulmates. And this past weekend? Kourtney and Sean said I do in the most beautiful wedding day at the Maryland Zoo sealing their union forever and for always. From the way they smile at each other to the way they melt into each other’s arms, it’s clear they’ve found something incredibly special. Kourtney and Sean are each other’s home, their safe space, and watching their connection throughout the day was truly heartwarming.

The day started in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, where the vibes were so relaxed!

Kourtney and her bridesmaids were enjoying the sweetest morning, filled with excitement, pampering, and just the right amount of chill. Hair and makeup were both underway, so I had a chance to photograph some of Kourtney and Sean’s details! I mean… just wait until you see Sean’s incredible ring and the sweet cake topper they got to honor their pup back at home!

Once most of the details were photographed and hair and makeup was wrapping up, it was time to head over to the historic Manor House at the Maryland Zoo.

Kourtney would be getting dressed here, so her dress was hanging up and ready with her shoes and accessories close by! Let me tell you, Kourtney’s gown was absolutely breathtaking! The sparkles, the intricate beading—it was a showstopper. And those red bottoms? Oh my goodness. Savannah, my second photographer, and I got everything set up for some gorgeous detail photos before Kourtney arrived to slip into her gown!

When she arrived at the Manor House, Kourtney was glowing— her hair and makeup were STUNNING. She slipped into her sparkly gown with the help of her grandmother and maid of honor, and you could just feel the love in the room. It was one of those quiet but powerful moments that stays with you. Everyone was tearing up, and it was such a special way to start the day.

If you’ve been in Baltimore recently, you know how the weather has been… a bit moody, to say the least!

Rain, clouds, and mist have been the norm lately, and leading up to the wedding, it seemed like it would be another dreary day at the start. But—Kourtney and Sean must have some serious weather magic because, just in time for their wedding day to get going, the skies cleared! (I mean… it may sound super cheesy, but imagine having a love so bright that it can LITERALLY clear the sky?!) The sun came out, the rain stopped, and it felt like the universe was smiling down on these two.

We headed outside at the Manor House for wedding party portraits, first with Kourtney’s side and then with Sean’s! Kourtney and Sean’s wedding party was an absolute joy—everyone was laughing and so excited for the ceremony to begin. Sean and his groomsmen were hilarious as they hyped each other up. We captured some really fun moments with the crew before heading to one of the most unique wedding ceremony locations I’ve ever photographed!

Kourtney and Sean’s ceremony took place at Penguin Coast in the Maryland Zoo, and yes, that’s exactly what it sounds like!

These two exchanged vows surrounded not only by their family and friends but also by an adorable squad of penguins. I mean, come on! How many couples can say that penguins watched them say “I do”?!

The ceremony itself was beautiful and so personal. Kourtney and Sean started with a touching sand unity ceremony, symbolizing their two lives becoming one, before exchanging the most heartfelt, personal vows. The way they looked at each other while speaking their promises… it’s something I’ll never forget. And when they sealed it with a kiss, the cheers and joy from the crowd (and maybe the penguins too!) was absolutely electric.

Their smiles as they recessed down the aisle said everything: pure happiness, pure love. They were officially Mr. and Mrs., and the excitement on their faces was contagious!

After the ceremony, we headed straight into a whirlwind of fun!

Kourtney and Sean were greeted by a special guest during their cocktail hour—an African penguin! Watching them meet the penguin was so sweet, and it was such a fun bonus offered by their unique venue. Their wedding day at the Maryland Zoo just kept getting better and better! You see… in addition to hosting an absolutely beautiful day, the staff at the Maryland Zoo went above and beyond to make the day seamless too. Every single person we ran into met us with kindness and congratulations for the happy couple. Kenzie with the events staff at the zoo hustled all day long to ensure all of the logistics were in check and truly ensured that Kourtney, Sean, their guests, and their vendors were taken care of and hydrated throughout their time at the zoo! I’m actually convinced that she is super human because there were many moving parts on this wedding day, and she handled them all flawlessly! (If you’re reading this, Kenzie, thank you again!)

Anyways… back to the recap!

From there, it was time for portraits, and Kourtney and Sean chose two absolutely stunning locations. First, we made our way to the hanging bridge, where the two of them couldn’t stop giggling and snuggling. The laughter and joy between them were so infectious—it was impossible not to smile along with them!

Then, we headed to the carousel for even more sweet moments. There’s something so magical and colorful about a carousel, and Kourtney and Sean brought that whimsy to life. The two of them laughed and held each other close, and it felt like something out of a fairytale!

As the sun began to set, it was time to head to the historic Manor House for the reception, and Kourtney and Sean kicked things off with the sweetest first dance.

You could just feel how much these two love each other as they swayed together, completely lost in the moment. Everyone else in the room seemed to disappear as they shared this incredibly intimate dance together. It was such an honor to witness such a special moment!

Their reception was full of thoughtful details that reflected their personalities—Kourtney and Sean’s love for travel and National Parks was woven throughout the decor, along with some fun touches that highlighted the zoo venue and their sweet pup. It was clear that every piece of their wedding day was intentionally chosen to reflect what mattered most to them as a couple!
