Katie and Dan’s wedding day at Poplar Springs Manor was fall MAGIC personified! This celebration was vibrant, heartfelt, and an absolute blast—the perfect way to cap off a busy October wedding season!
I arrived for K&D’s Poplar Springs Manor wedding day early Saturday afternoon, where the girls were getting glammed up and jamming out!
Right on time, Dan arrived, Chick-fil-A in hand, to keep the energy rolling as everyone got ready ahead of schedule. The whole afternoon was easy-breezy, filled with laughs, drinks, and a relaxed energy that set the stage for the fun to come. I mean… when hair and makeup is finished ahead of schedule and also looks absolutely stunning, you know the day is just going to get better from there! The team at Fleur Beauty Studio couldn’t have been more incredible to work with!
My second photographer, Sam, headed over to capture Dan’s prep while I stayed and documented as Katie got dressed with her mom and sister by her side. She was glowing—and I mean GLOWING! You could practically feel the excitement radiating from her as she put on her earrings and buckled into her pumps. An impromptu first look with her gal pals brought on all the happy tears, and with a round of cheers, Katie was hyped up for her big moment with Dan.
Just steps from where they’d soon say “I do,” Katie and Dan had their first look, and oh, the love was real!
They melted right into each other’s arms, giggling, kissing, and twirling in total bliss. These two were so caught up in each other that time flew, and before we knew it, it was portrait time around the property!
Poplar Springs Manor is a stunner any time of year, but during peak fall, it’s extra magical. Golden hour hit, casting the grounds in warm light as we wandered through leaves and snapped photos with Katie, Dan, their crew, and family. Somehow, we even managed to get everything wrapped up ahead of schedule, giving everyone some extra chill time before guests arrived. Talk about picture-perfect timing! 😉
If anyone knows how to get the party started, it’s Katie and Dan!
These two are pros at making everyone feel right at home, so it was no surprise they greeted guests with Fireball shots and cozy shawls, just in case anyone caught a chill! They bring all the fun while making everyone feel like family.
Their ceremony took place along Poplar Springs’ gorgeous tree-lined drive, under twinkling lights as the sun began to set. A dear friend officiated as Katie and Dan exchanged rings and vows that had everyone in happy tears. From meeting on the rec league kickball field to becoming lifelong teammates—these two are the real deal, and everyone was there cheering them on as they sealed it with a kiss!
After the ceremony, guests were treated to cozy cocktails (Apple Cider Aperol Spritz anyone?!) and nonstop hype from Katie and Dan’s friends and family.
The love in the air was palpable, and as dusk settled over the manor, we all moved inside the ballroom to keep the good times rolling.
Once inside, Katie and Dan kicked off the evening with their first dance—complete with epic dips and all the romantic spins. The toasts were heartfelt and hilarious, and soon the dance floor was packed with everyone busting out their best moves! This crowd did not hold back, dancing, laughing, and celebrating like there was no tomorrow. (There may or may not have been more Fireball shots flowing right from the bottle and glasses clinking as everyone celebrated the newlyweds! It was a dance party for the books, with the music bumpin’, the good times rolling, and Katie and Dan at the center of it all.
Katie and Dan’s Poplar Springs Manor wedding day was one of those days that reminds me just how lucky I am to capture love stories.
Their energy, laughter, and love for each other were absolutely contagious—there’s truly no greater honor or joy than documenting moments like these.
