These two… I could go on and on about how well these two complete each other… about how their eyes light up a little more with the other by their side… about their kindness and understanding and excitement to be husband and wife. Before that though, you need to know something super important about this wedding day! It was actually supposed to be in DECEMBER! Alayna and Andrew made the executive decision just a few months ago to move their wedding day UP to accommodate for more outdoor spaces + improved safety conditions for their guests. I remember opening up my inbox, just a few days after I met these two for their engagement session to a panicked yet hopeful and excited email from Alayna with potential dates and plans for a new wedding day! They handled the change in planning flawlessly, despite accelerating wedding planning by two months, and the day could not have been more perfect or meant to be!
That said, I’m not going to lie… I was nearly in a panic driving up 95 to Alayna and Andrew’s wedding. You see… it was POURING! I knew just how excited they were about their stunning venue, and I saw all of our plans to explore the gardens pre-ceremony flash before my eyes. When I met Alayna in the bridal suite and Andrew in the hallway though, they were totally unphased and cool as a cucumber… they were just EXCITED to be married! Isn’t that how it’s supposed to be?! From there, my worries about the rain quickly faded. We found some stunning spots for portraits and made some wedding day magic happen. And at the end of the day? They were MARRIED, and that’s all that matters!
We had so much fun, giggling as we explored, and hiking dresses up over knees to keep fabric dry. At the end of the day, the rain stopped for just long enough for us to get some stunning shots outside of the estate before these two were off to enjoy some time with their guests. They say rain on a wedding day is good luck, but with rain on a wedding day that was moved up two months due to a pandemic has to be extra, extra good luck! It was such a joy to witness and document such an amazing start to a new chapter for these two.
I can’t WAIT for you to see more from Alayna and Andrew’s wedding day at Cairnwood Estate! This wedding sure was one for the books… Just wait until you see the way Andrew looks at his stunning bride!
Loved this group of ladies! GIRL… you make such a stunning bride! Get you a bride that can work the gorgeous giggle and the stunning straight face! First look time! How sweet is Andrew’s reaction?! What a dapper group of guys! Time to get these two hitched! MARRIED! The rain FINALLY let up enough post-ceremony for some fun portraits outside, around Cairnwood! Talk about EPIC! I literally don’t know if I can choose a favorite portrait from my time with these two, but this one is close to the top of that list! Alayna’s mom helped Alayna refresh + bustle pre-ceremony! Can we talk about this stunning space?! I could have photographed these reception details for HOURS! If you know me well, you know just how much I love dahlias!
A few years ago, I found Inga, Alayna’s mom, on Etsy. She’s a talented watercolor artist, and she painted a photo of my family’s dog that had passed that year for my parents for Christmas. We stayed in touch on Instagram, and fast forward a few years, and I had the incredible honor of photographing her daughter’s WEDDING! I could just cry with how much this meant to me!
