Nicole and Chris | A Valley Forge Engagement Session

Today’s post is so, so special to me. You see… Nicole was one of the very FIRST people that I met at Penn State, and now she is getting MARRIED! Nicole and I were in the same summer classes before school even started…. we learned how to study in the student union together, where to print our papers, we tried to navigate dorm life without AC (during the hottest months of the summer), tried fitness classes together, and even went to our first frat party together. She was one of my first friends during college, and the fact that I just photographed her ENGAGEMENT SESSION is really blowing my mind!

I have to say… it is the biggest honor when friends ask you to photograph their weddings. When I received Nicole’s inquiry, I’m not going to lie… I may or may not have teared up a little bit. Having the opportunity to celebrate such sweet seasons of life with friends means the absolute world to me.

Now… a little more about these two. I met Chris for the first time back in college when I did a senior session with Nicole and Chris at the Lion Shrine. Right away, I could tell that he was something special. The way that Nicole smiled when she was with Chris was different than the way she smiled before… she somehow seemed happier and more excited than her naturally warm personality that I know and love. Her laugh was fuller, her eyes had a little sparkle to them, and with the way that Chris looked at her, I knew they were in for a special future together. These two went on their very first date in the library at State, and Chris recently popped the big question that was followed with a night out at a celebratory dinner.

I am already counting down the days ‘til next October when I get to shoot Nicole & Chris’s fall inspired wedding! Until then, enjoy a few sneaks from their engagement session!
