hi y'all!
Whether you’re here for wedding inspiration, engagement galleries, or tips to make your day feel a little easier, you’re in the right place. This blog is where I share the latest CKP work, behind-the-scenes moments, and advice to help you feel confident in front of the camera. Scroll on, or browse by category below — and if something sparks an idea, let’s talk about it!
Today’s post is so, so special to me! Rachel is someone that I met through Rising Tide Society’s Tuesday’s Together/Instagram when I first moved to DC, and we really seemed to hit it off! She’s one of those people that somehow always knows how to make someone feel welcome. Her work is just stunning, and she has the kindest personality that I know makes her clients feel the same way that I do— so incredibly loved!

Today, I wanted to dive into a question that I get asked a lot— by both clients AND friends: What size would you recommend for my wedding party?! PHEW… this is a little bit of a loaded question because what is right for you may not be what is right for me or for someone else!! But, when it comes to it, if you’re asking, I’ll answer honestly: keep your wedding party on the smaller side.

I knew Katie & Charlie’s day was going to be pure magic the very moment I met them. These two are something beyond special. They’re funny, they’re caring, and they for sure know how to look absolutely amazing in front of the camera… Katie took the time to incorporate so many sweet, personal touches throughout their wedding day. From the bouquets of dried lavender that Katie tied herself… to sweet white pumpkins grown in Katie & her family’s gardens that were incorporated into reception center pieces… to sweet family heirlooms that Katie wore along with her bridal look, the time they’ve spent making memories at their venue leading up to their wedding day, and their ceremony that was officiated by Katie’s brother— their day was something so, so special. I cannot wait for you to get a peek into their wedding day at Chateau Bu De!!

If you haven’t entered yet and want to learn more, get on it by clicking here!). I am so excited to re-introduce seniors into the Cait Kramer brand because, after all, I did get my start in photography by working with my classmates when I was in high school!!

We started our Monday morning by stalking the weather… seriously. I was checking Accuweather, Dark Sky & Weather.com every 5 minutes, Kerri was too, and so was my roommate! Each forecast we found showed something completely different, but most showed that the rain wasn’t going to be an issue! We were so hopeful that we could make this sweet DC engagement session a reality because Kerri & Matt drove in all the way from Kennett Square, PA!! (What an honor!!!)

Yes, that’s right friends! I’ve been hinting that I have been working on a big launch for a while now, and today is finally the day!!! The timing of today’s post may seem pretty perfect, as there is a literal hurricane making a beeline to the East Coast, however, it has been an entire wedding season in the making! How on Earth does one plan for RAIN on their wedding day?!

These cuties started my weekend off with SO many smiles! Emily and Matt were so flexible before their engagement session! They had to deal with a few location changes because, as we kept an eye on the forecast, it definitely looked it was going to downpour for their entire session. We knew we needed a location with stunning views with or without rain, so we decided on Union Station!

FRIDAY!!! We made it to the end of a short week, and I am not going to lie… I spent most of my time trying to figure out what day it was. I’m heading into a few weekends that are light on weddings, and I am SO excited for some time to relax and travel to a few of my favorite places. This weekend, I have a sweet engagement session, and the rest of Saturday, I’m off to relax! I don’t know if I will know what to do with all of this free time!!
