I think I’ve pinched myself each time I’ve looked through these photos! You see, I’ve known Marcela since we were the world’s most awkward middle schoolers. She has been such a dear friend throughout the years, and I had the absolute honor of shooting her and Sam’s engagement photos while I was home for Thanksgiving.

Oh boy….am I excited about this! As many of you know, I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime. This February, I will be traveling to Ethiopia for a media mission with the Archibald Project. {Learn more about my trip here} As you can imagine, I am beyond excited! This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I am so humbled to have the opportunity to serve the Selamta Family Project with my art and love for storytelling. However, as you can imagine, planning a trip to another continent can get quite expensive!

Kayla and Nathan absolutely make my heart swoon! They originally met through family/mutual friends and began meeting in the District on the weekend for dates! They started falling in love with each other as they fell in love with the city. Nathan popped the question on the river near the tidal basin in DC during cherry blossom season (anyone else feeling all the heart eye emojis right now?), right where we wrapped up their sunset engagement session! He spent the week of their anniversary bringing Kayla back to all of the places they went on their first dates, and on the last day of the week, they went back to their special place near the tidal basin. The rest was history!

What you may know is that photography has been a huge part of my life for the last 5+ years. What you also may know is that I am happiest when I am able to use my art to give back to the causes and communities that I truly believe in. What you may not know is that orphan care and international adoption hold an extremely special place in my heart. It’s something I have been pretty quiet about over the last couple of years. As a single 22 year old, it may feel a little silly to say that adoption will be part of growing my family in the future. But it is.

These two <3 oh my goodness. They met at the beach one fateful Fourth of July and have been by each other’s side ever since. It was only fitting that we started their session at the beach….the beach where Addison grew up visiting his grandfather. I loved all of the thought and care they put into this special shoot!

Oh today is a happy day! I have been dying to share Miss Emma’s headshot session on the blog for a long time, and of course when I was about to get this post together, a part of my computer decided to jump ship on me. My laptop has been held up in the Apple hospital, but is (thankfully) good as new!

Since moving to DC, I have been really pumped about the possibility of shooting in Georgetown! Between the canal, the waterfront, and the cute little porches, this place is actually a photographer’s dream come true. Because of this, I was so excited when Danielle asked me to take a few headshots for her budding day-of wedding coordinating business!

My oh my this post is long overdue. First off, I would like to advise you against starting a huge brand redesign in the middle of your busiest season. With just about 30 sessions in a two month period, classes, work, senior year activities, and the like, you will be frustrated when you can’t do it all, and that is just not fun y’all. Trust. I ended up exporting/backing up my blog back in April (the redesign was a process, let me tell you), when I was playing around in Wordpress. I was terrified that I was going to lose a post (oh the irony. I ended up losing them all!), so I put my senior posts on hold, until now.

Oh my goodness…is this really happening? The new look is finally LIVE, y’all! WELCOME to the all new Cait Kramer Photography! I have been dreaming about rebranding my little corner of the internet for quite some time now, and WOW I cannot believe that the new look is finally up and running! The last couple of months have been a whirlwind, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally be able to share this with you! I’m not kidding when I say today feels a little like Christmas morning, with a whole lot of nerves mixed in there {because WOW–I hope you like what you see}! It’s definitely been a crazy journey, and I am so excited for all the adventures that are to come.
