HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y’ALL! We did it, y’all! We survived 2020! So much of the last year was so scary, so unwelcome, so heartbreaking, and I really wish I could forget a lot of it. That said, I’m realizing that the year wasn’t ALL bad. I have so much to be grateful for… so much to celebrate… even more to look forward to.
This holiday season, I decided to avoid the year in review and BTS posts for the most part (That said, I couldn’t TOTALLY resist… click here for one quick look back), and instead, I’m opting for a look ahead (With one other little look back at the end of the post!).
I’ve had a lot of time to dream and brainstorm ways to make 2021 a little brighter, a little bigger, and a little more guided than 2020. I honestly have no idea what we are walking into this year… at this time last year, I don’t think anyone would have thought our year would have looked anything like it did… but, overall, I’m choosing to enter the New Year full of hope. Maybe this is overly optimistic, but I’m going with it. I need a little something to keep me moving forward, and with the pivoting skills I was forced to master in 2020, I am pretty confident I am prepped and ready to take on whatever 2021 throws at us (let’s hope it’s confetti, glitter, vaccinations, and a whole lot of safe hugs!).
I’ve been sitting down to establish concrete business and personal goals for this year, and while they’re coming along, I’m not quite sure I’ll ever share them. Goal setting tends to be pretty personal to me, and I believe that, if you do like to set goals yourself, they should ne personal to you as well! I have 4 big guiding themes for my year this year that all revolve around my word of the year: Endurance. It has been a few years since I’ve set a word of the year, and this year, endurance just felt right after the year we previously experienced. The four themes that I hope to use to help guide my year in addition to my word of the year:
- Intentional Consistency
- Prepping well in advance for all the things (CKP content, grocery lists, and playlists are all included!)
- Focused Goal Setting
- I’ll be using a Cultivate What Matters Goal Planner for the first time in a few years, and I am PUMPED! Click here to shop!
- Incorporating Rest
Now… like I said, I don’t know that I’ll ever share my big goals for the year. That said, I would love to know what you are looking forward to this year… Focuses? Things you may be celebrating? Something you may want a cheerleader for? Let me know in a comment at the end of this post!
Before I let ya go here, I also want to share something that definitely brought a smile to my face! At the start of 2020, I decided to kick off a 1-second-a-day video project! I used this app which made it super easy! I wasn’t quite sure I would stick with it, but I am so glad that I did! Never in a million years did I think I would be rewatching the year we had, but I’m actually super happy to have it documented! To be honest, most of the second half of the year is just a recap of what Luna and Gemma are up to most days (both of which are not my animals… Luna is my sister’s dog and Gemma is my roommate’s cat!), but I am so glad to have these memories recorded! It’s a little long, but if you want to tune in, I’ll link the video below!
Happy 2021, y’all! Onward + upward!
