Even if I tried, I don’t think I could have dreamed up a more perfect way to kick off spring wedding season. Y’all… Jamie and Ian are the real deal. They’re sweet and caring, compassionate and understanding, best friends and now HUSBAND AND WIFE! Their wedding day at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club reflected all of this and more!
We couldn’t have ordered a more glorious day… sun, a slightly cool breeze coming off of the bay, and (thankfully) no rain! If you followed along with my 2018 wedding season, you know why this is such a big deal!
From the moment I arrived on Friday, right to our final hugs during their reception, it was so evident that these two love their families and are so well loved by their families too. From the sweet heirlooms they chose to incorporate, to including cousins in their wedding party, Jamie’s first look with her dad & Ian’s sweet dance with his mom at their reception, I was really glad to have a few tissues stocked in my apron all day long. Jamie and Ian opted to infuse their day with so many meaningful touches, traditions and moments, and it was such an honor and joy to celebrate alongside these two and their families.
I met Jamie and Ian just about a year ago (WOW time flies!) for their engagement session, and right away, I knew there was something special about them. Throughout their entire wedding planning process, Jamie has been such an amazing encourager, cheerleader and light for both me and CKP. I’m tearing up a little bit as I type this out, but goodness, this girl came into my life at a time when she was truly needed and means something special to me. I’m sure everyone that knows these two knows just how positive and uplifting they are as a couple, and that it is such a joy to know them.
Jamie and Ian met in college through the women and men’s club soccer teams and quickly became good friends. Fast forward a bit, and Ian finally got up the courage to share his true feelings with Jamie. Once she realized that she felt the same way too, they were inseparable, and the rest was history! Now, they have a sweet pup, own a home together, and are looking forward to a lifetime of memories… I’m just so excited for these two!
Enough with the feels… I won’t keep you waiting any longer! I know you’re really here for a glimpse into their gorgeous dusty blue and ivory inspired wedding day! Shall we dive in?!
Y’all this is not a drill! It is PEONY SEASON, and I’m totally here for it! I’m still not over Jamie’s gorgeous dress! I love when brides opt to include family heirlooms on their wedding day. That pin on the right? It belonged to Jamie’s grandmother who has passed. It was pinned to Jamie’s bouquet all day long as a way to keep her close throughout all of the excitement đź’• I think 2019 may be the year of most creative bridesmaids gifts! Jamie gifted her girls monogrammed PFG’s… perfect for the summer! Jamie’s dad’s mom (Jamie’s grandmother) gifted Jamie’s mom this strand of pearls on her wedding day. The women in their family each have a photo in the pearls on their wedding day, and I thought it was so sweet that Jamie made these special images such a priority as she got ready for her own wedding! I am in LOOOOVE with these sandals! Cute, comfy & perfect for a beachy wedding! This bouquet of peonies is just to die for! Three generations of women helping Jamie put on her finishing touches before heading over to her ceremony site! Their smiles say it all!GIRL! The sweetest đź’• I’ve always wanted to photograph a wedding at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club! Can you guess why?! It’s gorgeous!First look with dad… cue all the feels! Gorgeous cousins turned bridesmaids! Ian looking so dapper! That’s one good looking wedding party! When I arrived, Jamie looked at me with a little bit of panic in her eyes and said: “Change of plans… we think we are leaning towards having our ceremony inside at the Garden Rooftop instead of outside on the lawn… is that okay?!” UHM YES! That is more than okay! Just check out this gorgeous space, y’all! There wasn’t a dry eye as Jamie came down the aisle! Â When the groom cries, I think everyone cries! The sweetest reaction from Ian đź’• MARRIED! We got some gorgeous golden hour light for married portraits! Smiles this big come only after you officially marry your best friend! Jamie… your blue eyes girl! Me: “Are you sure you two are okay with going down on the beach? Are you okay with the sand?”
Jamie & Ian: “We are more than okay with all the sand… we’ve been looking forward to our beach portraits!” Â Party time!!! Just wait until you see Jamie & Ian’s gorgeous reception design in Chesapeake Bay Beach Club’s Tavern on the Bay reception space! Monogrammed sugar cookies: such a fun (and delicious!) idea for wedding favors! They’re married, y’all! So much joy! That’s one proud mom! đź’• Party time! What a fun celebration! Twinkle lights and a romatic dip… the perfect way to end a perfect day!
