This is such a bittersweet blog post to press publish on! Sweet because OH MY GOODNESS was Kate and Greg’s day one for the books and a little sad because this is my FINAL wedding blog post of 2020! Kate and Greg wrapped up my 202o wedding season in the prettiest way, and not a day too soon! You see… this was actually their THIRD wedding date! They decided to postpone their original April wedding date to November for obvious reasons, and when it became clear that it would be best if more of their event was outside, they moved it up to October! Talk about some serious patience and wedding planning skills… planning one day is hard enough. Planning THREE in the midst of a pandemic? That’s pretty much near superhuman!
Though I can’t even imagine how challenging it must have been to plan, replan, reschedule, and postpone such a monumental day, you would have never been able to tell what stress this year has put these two through! They were nothing but smiles, warm wishes, thoughtful gestures, poise, and FUN all day long. It was such a joy to photograph these two as they said I do in front of so many of their favorite people.
I could go on and on about these two and their amazing day, but before I do, I just have to brag on them a little bit… being a wedding vendor these days is pretty scary. I’ve been asking each of my couples prior to their days about their COVID-19 plans and how they planned to keep themselves, their guests, and their vendors safe. Kate shared a near novel with me on their precautions and plans and also let me know that her and Greg were planning on leading by example, wearing masks as much as possible, hand sanitizing, and distancing whenever possible, and that they did! They did such an amazing job showing love for their favorite people by taking as many precautions as they could. It was such a relief for me as a vendor, and such a JOY to see just how much their guests appreciated their extra care.
Their giddy smiles said it all, all day long. Kate and Greg were nothing but EXCITED and RELIEVED to officially become husband and wife. I can’t wait for you to see their sweet first look, stunning portraiture, and the FIREWORKS (Yes, you read that right!!) during their first dance! They do say that the third time is the charm, and that certainly rings true for these two! Kate and Greg’s wedding day was just perfect, and I cannot WAIT any longer to share some sneaks with you!
Can we talk about the gorgeous detail on Kate’s dress?! Such a sweet group of ladies! Something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence for your shoe! Talk about some serious JOY! Kate… you are SO loved by some amazing people! The sweetest first look between these two! What a good looking crew! GAH! I could photograph this sweet group of gals and these gorgeous bouquets all day long! Can we talk about these custom branded masks?! I am OBSESSED! Such a pretty way to keep your guests that much safer. OFFICIAL!!!! Loving these gorgeous open-air receptions! We had the perfect, warm October night! Literal FIREWORKS during Kate and Greg’s first dance! SO many masked guests on their dance floor! LOVE the additional mask and outdoor precautions these two implemented on their wedding day.
Congrats, Kate and Greg! It was SUCH a joy to document your amazing celebration!
Thank you to the vendor team that made Kate and Greg’s day so magical!
