If you are wondering why I’m sharing an engagement session AFTER their wedding, it’s because Kelsey and Blaine’s engagement session happened just under 24 hours before their wedding day began!! (PS you can click here to see these cuties on their wedding day!!) Back when Kelsey reached out to me about photographing her wedding, we started discussing when we would want to have her and Blaine’s engagement session. We considered meeting for their session when I was back home in Houston, but that just didn’t feel right. After emailing back and forth a few times, we decided to do their session in Disney (Pinch me!!), right before their wedding day, and let me tell y’all… it was a BLAST! Their Disney Boardwalk engagement photos are truly what dreams are made of!
For me, engagement sessions are so much more than snapping pretty photos. Engagement sessions are a time for me to meet with a couple, to teach them my posing system, to figure out what “their pose” may be before their wedding day, and to learn what makes them feel like them in front of the camera. It also gives us plenty of time to get to know each other! Because of this, it was SO important to me that I met with these two before their Disney wedding day! You see… I’ve known Kelsey since the sixth grade, but this engagement session was actually the very first time I would be meeting Blaine in person! I was really excited to be meeting the guy that she would be spending forever with, and just moments after giving these two hugs hello, I could tell that what these two have is very special.
When I sent them their “get to know you” questionnaire at the very beginning of their experience with me, Kelsey let me know that she loves how her smile is the biggest whenever she is with him, and Blaine let me know that he loves how she always knows what’s best for him… even when he’s in a bad mood, she always knows how to make him feel better. To see this truth in real time was just the sweetest thing! It has been a few years since I had seen Kels, and to see just how bright her smile was with Blaine by her side made me so happy.
For their engagement session, we met at Disney’s Boardwalk, where Kelsey and Blaine would be prepping for their wedding day the next morning! Across the water from us was the Beach Club Resort, where Kelsey used to work back when she was in Disney’s college program! I just love that these two chose to include two (gorgeous) spots that mean something so sweet to them! It was such an honor to photograph this destination engagement session… Kelsey was hoping to achieve a subtle Cinderella-inspired look, and with her sweet glass slippers and gorgeous blue dress, I definitely think she exceeded this goal! I can’t wait for you to see this sweet couple and the fun colors of Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Beach Club Resorts! Enjoy some favorite of my favorite frames from Kelsey and Blaine’s Disney Boardwalk engagement photos!
I wish I had this blue striped wall in my apartment! So fun!! These two are the sweetest! One of my favorites! I’m still not over Kelsey’s gorgeous ring!!! When Kelsey did the Disney College Program, she worked at Disney’s Beach Club Resort! We were laughing because this cute little bungalow is actually a utility room! Looove this light blue!
