Lauren and Mike | A Sunset Engagement Session at Longwood Gardens

You may remember Lauren and Mike from this time last year! They were originally supposed to say I Do in October 2020, but their wedding was postponed until this year. Last year, we met in Cape May for a celebratory session to mark and honor the year they were supposed to become husband and wife! (You can see those photos here!) Though it breaks my heart that their original wedding plans weren’t able to happen when they had hoped, I was pretty pumped that I got to see these two so many times before their wedding day and now, I’m super excited that their dream wedding day is just weeks around the corner!

You see… Lauren and Mike are two really special people. They are so comfortable with each other and have a way of making you feel at home right away. They are just so much fun to be around. They are kind and caring, and let’s be honest… they have amazing taste too! (Just wait until you see their outfits— so classic!) We met at Longwood Gardens one evening, and had weather that seemed to be ordered, just for us! The days preceding their session were beyond hot with rain and humidity, but come session day, we had a break in the high heat and JUST enough clouds to soften things, but not so heavy that they stole our glow!

Lauren and Mike met about 10 years ago. Mike has a twin sister who played on the same basketball team as Lauren. Their tournament schedule was pretty intense, requiring many weekends on the road. Mike attended a few of the tournaments early on, and he and Lauren met after one of the games! Soon after, his twin sister let Lauren know he had a crush on her. There was an immediate connection, and they talked for about 3-hours straight that first day and made things official about a month later! They dated throughout their junior and senior years of high school and all throughout college. Now, they live and work in New York City!

Mike proposed to Lauren near her old Manhattan apartment. It has some pretty amazing views— perfect for a proposal! Lauren says it was everything she’s ever dreamed of. He surprised her by having both of their parents come to NYC for the night for a celebration— So sweet and thoughtful!

They’ll be making things official as husband and wife later this summer, and I cannot WAIT to see their dream wedding day unfold. In the meantime, I’m beyond excited to share their glow-y Longwood Gardens engagement session with you! Let’s get right to it!

Lauren’s ring may just be one of my most-shared on IG rings! Isn’t it stunning?!
