Laurian and Chris | A Blush Pink and Sage Summer Wedding at Historic Rosemont Manor in Virginia

For every wedding that I’m lucky enough to photograph, I feel like there’s at least one big thing I remember super vividly from each day. Sometimes its the light or the weather… other times, it is the way the sweet couple looks at each other or their first look… sometimes its the dress or the florals or the creative way a couple chose to utilize a venue… for Laurian and Chris’s day? I know I’ll always remember the way they made me feel like family throughout the entire day AND how special and sweet Laurian’s exclamations of “I HAVE A HUSBAND!!!” following their ceremony were.

This day was so incredibly special… I arrived to Laurian and Chris’s wedding, and right away, I was greeted by the incredible staff at their venue, Historic Rosemont Manor. The guys were at the bar doing a shot of bourbon from a bottle that was burried before their day and that was just dug up for luck as the ladies were busy prepping upstairs. I got to chat with the guys while meeting Laurian and Chris’s new pup, Jellybean, and then headed upstairs to hang out with the ladies. The morning went off without a hitch… Laurian was helping her bridesmaids with hair and makeup as I photographed their gorgeous details (just WAIT until you see their unique invitations!), and from there, it was time to get Laurian into her dress! We spent most of the morning giggling, while slightly teary because LAURIAN AND CHRIS’S DAY WAS OFFICIALLY HERE! I just loved feeling the genuine warmth and excitement that these two had to officially be husband and wife.

Laurian and her father have such a dear repationship, and I’m pretty sure her first look with him left all of us a little teary. I get to witness so many special moments on the wedding days that I photograph, and I know this first look will be one that is with me for a long time. From there, Laurian and Chris shared a joyful first look with a few happy tears and plenty of portraits to follow. The ir ceremony was celebrated with their closest people, and their reception design… well, you’ll just have to see the photos for yourself to see how gorgeous it was! Their day could not have been more perfect from start to finish.

Laurian and Chris spent their day with their closest of family and friends, and it was so super special to feel the love that all of their closest people had for them. From teary and joyful first looks, to their intimate ceremony, and cozy (yet socially distanced!) outdoor reception space… these two planned the perfect day to celebrate this brand new start to their chapter as HUSNAND AND WIFE!!! I can’t wait to share a sneak peek with you. Ready?!

Laurian is amazingly talented when it comes to hair and makeup! She treated herself AND all of her bridesmaids to wedding morning makeovers! Laurian… this dress was MADE for you! Time to go see Dad for his and Laurian’s first look! This might just be the sweetest daddy-daughter first look I think I’ve ever photographed! Between these two, me and Sam (my second shooter), I don’t think there was a dry eye! Now time for Laurian and Chris’s first look! I love the joy on Chris’s face! This crew was so much fun to work with! Time to get these two MARRIED! THEY’RE MARRIED! I can’t even get over their reactions— so sweet! Time for some just married portraits!!! Chris mixed up a few great siginature drink recipes for their day! I love these images that Sam got showing these gorgeous drinks and Chris’s new bling! Can we continue these amazing, intimate, and breezy summer setups post-COVID?! Laurian and Chris were so considerate of following recommended guidelines for safety all day, including masks, hand san, temp checks, intimate guest count, and socially distanced seating at both their reception and ceremony. I just loved their reception setup, and we had the PERFECT evening for hanging out outside. I loved when Laurian’s sister and nieces joined in with her and her dad’s dance! SO much sweetness. I just love this family! We had a hot air baloon crash their reception! How cool! Couple’s photos may look a little different these days, but my gratitude is all the same!
