There’s nothing quite like witnessing the pure joy and unconditional love that radiates from new parents! Back in December, I had the immense privilege of documenting an intimate Old Town Alexandria in home newborn session, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left my heart overflowing with warmth and gratitude!

You see… I was lucky enough to photograph Laurian and Chris’s WEDDING DAY back in late 2020! (Just about four years to the DATE that I’m sharing this blog post!)

Fast forward to December, 2023, and these two are welcoming me into their historic Old Town Alexandria home to photograph their sweet family’s newest addition! As I stepped into their cozy home, the air was thick with love and excitement, and I couldn’t help but feel honored to be a part of this momentous occasion.

One of the highlights of this Old Town Alexandria in home newborn session was witnessing the sheer delight of sweet big sister, C!

Her infectious laughter and squeals of joy as she played with baby wipes and toys were a testament to the pure, unadulterated happiness that comes in childhood and with welcoming a new family member. It was a beautiful reminder that siblings are not only the best playmates but also the most loyal companions on this incredible journey called life!

As I focused my lens on the newest addition to the family, little V, I was struck by her precious little cherub face! This sleepy newborn spent most of our time together snuggled up in her parents’ arms, cooing softly and drifting off into dreamland. Capturing these fleeting moments of tranquility was a true privilege, as I knew that these images would become cherished heirlooms, reminding the family of the sheer joy and wonder of welcoming a new life into the world!

One of the greatest advantages of an in home newborn session is the ability to capture a family in their most natural and comfortable environment!

There’s something incredibly special about documenting these precious moments within the walls of a family’s own home, where every nook and cranny holds a memory, and every corner is filled with the warmth of their love. From the cozy master bedroom to the nursery filled with tiny treasures, each space became a canvas for capturing the love that this beautiful family shares!

As I reflect on this sweet lifestyle newborn session, I am can’t help but feel like the luckiest photographer in the world! How special is it to photograph such amazing seasons of life for such kind and thoughtful people?!

It was such a joy and a huge honor to photograph Laurian and Chris as their family grew from three to four (Plus a few furry family members too!). I so hope you enjoy scrolling through our morning together!
